THE INN AT CAPE KIWANDA UNVEILS 35 FULLY TRANSFORMED, MODERNIZED GUEST ROOMS AND SUITES WITH LOBBY UPGRADES

Mid-century modern design paired with vintage surf culture evokes a laid-back coastal vibe

PACIFIC CITY, Oregon – June 23, 2025 – The Inn at Cape Kiwanda, a Noble House Hotels & Resorts destination, is proud to announce the completion of an extensive transformation of its 35 ocean-view guest rooms and suites in partnership with EDG Design. A beloved boutique hotel along Oregon’s scenic North Coast since 1998, the Inn at Cape Kiwanda offers views of the Pacific Ocean and iconic Haystack Rock from every room. The reimagined inn gives guests an elevated and relaxed experience inspired by the natural beauty of the Oregon Coast.

The redesigned rooms blend modern coastal aesthetics with timeless comfort, featuring warm wood finishes, honed stone and layered textures. Highlights of the enhancements include stone-clad floor-to-ceiling fireplaces, spa-inspired bathrooms, updated lighting and contemporary technology, creating a tranquil space for guests to unplug and connect with each other and the coast. The surf motif welcomes guests in the newly upgraded lobby with vintage surfboards displayed on the wall, along with a custom macrame fiber installation. Outdoor lighting and a communal firepit offer views of Haystack Rock and the ocean.

“The new design creates a space that reflects the charm of Pacific City while offering all the modern comforts today’s travelers expect,” said Will Farrow, area managing director with Noble House Hotels & Resorts. “The upgrades are a reimagining of a beloved coastal inn that reflects the beauty of the natural landscape, with a nod to Pacific Northwest surf culture.”

EDG’s design narrative weaves in the story of Cape Kiwanda’s deep local surf roots. The headboards in the guestrooms are upholstered in fabrics inspired by classic jerga sweaters (“Baja hoodies”) and falsa blankets, vibrant textiles first brought north by surfers returning from Baja, Mexico, in the 1960s, their bold stripes a symbol of laid-back adventures and coastal wanderlust.

“Our design reinforces the singular charm and relationship with nature that draws people to the Cape Kiwanda area while still elevating the guest experience,” said Akiko Hrovat, director of design at EDG Design. “The clean lines of mid-century design and warmth of natural materials create a dialogue between sophistication and simplicity.”

All guest rooms feature private balconies with ocean views, gas fireplaces, and easy access to the beach, local dining and outdoor adventures. Inn amenities include e-bikes, a putting course, playground, communal fire pits and an indoor pool. The redesign also places a renewed focus on sustainability, incorporating eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient amenities wherever possible. A community vibe encourages families and small groups to enjoy games and puzzles around the large communal table in the lobby, along with a LED lit shuffle board table.

Located across from the beach, the Inn at Cape Kiwanda remains a favorite destination for visitors seeking coastal charm, personalized service and unspoiled beauty year-round. Guests can also enjoy dining at Meridian Restaurant at the nearby Headlands Coastal Lodge & Spa, another Noble House Hotels & Resorts destination, or at Stimulus Coffee + Bakery adjacent to the inn.
