Duarte will showcase his fiction series, R3NEGADE In Time (Books 1 & 2), a captivating tale of light versus dark woven with Native American culture and true historical events.

      Cosme Duarte uses his writing to share his heritage while exploring profound themes of humanity and resilience. Don’t miss the chance to meet him, learn about his journey and dive into his unique storytelling.

    • Where: Inn at Cape Kiwanda
    • What: We invite guests of the Inn at Cape Kiwanda to join us on Saturdays in December from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a tasting experience in our lobby. Savor Pelican Brewing beer, wines, sparkling cider and snacks. Our team, rooted in Pacific City, is eager to share local activity tips.

    Holidays at the Inn: New Year’s Eve Welcome Pour

    • When: Tuesday, December 31, 2024
    • Where: Inn at Cape Kiwanda
    • What: Celebrate New Year's Eve with a champagne toast pour at check-in on December 31, including non-alcoholic options: Pelican Brewing Sparkle Hops and sparkling cider. Exclusively for registered guests of the Inn at Cape Kiwanda.

    • What: Plan your trip to the Inn at Cape Kiwanda to coincide with the magnificent King Tides — the highest tides of the season — January 11-13, 2025
  • Whale Watching at Cape Kiwanda

    • When: Late December & Late March
    • What: Each winter, more than 20,000 gray whales pass by the Oregon Coast on their annual migration south from Alaska to Baja Mexico—and you don't have to be out on the water to witness this amazing event; you can see them while standing on the beach or at the top of Cape Kiwanda Dune. Oregon State Park whale watching weeks will be scheduled during prime migration weeks in late December and late March.
  • Weekly Community Yoga Class at Tidepools Spa & Wellness

    • When: Thursdays
    • Where: Tidepools Spa & Wellness at Headlands Coastal Lodge & Spa, 33000 Cape Kiwanda Drive, Pacific City
    • What: Join us for a morning of relaxation and flow guided by Amber, your Tidepools Spa & Wellness instructor. This deeply relaxing class focuses on breathing techniques paired with grounding postures of deep holds and dynamic twists to calm the body and mind.

  • Trask River Hatchery

    • When: Fall & Early Winter
    • Where: 15020 Chance Road Tillamook, OR 97141
    • What: Trask River Hatchery has outdoor interpretive signing. Adult salmon viewing is excellent during the fall in the waters below the hatchery and in Gold Creek. Group tours are available with advance arrangements.

      Fish raised: spring and fall Chinook, coho salmon, and winter steelhead

      Wildlife: Birds of prey, fish, wading birds, waterfowl, songbirds
